The luxury sedan market in India is about to witness a refreshing addition as BMW India gears up to launch the all-new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe on July 17, 2025. This much-awaited model comes with a host of exterior and interior enhancements, cutting-edge technology, and a re-engineered powertrain, promising to deliver a superior driving experience for enthusiasts and luxury seekers alike.

BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe – Refreshed Exterior Styling

The new BMW 2 Series retains its signature low-slung silhouette but gets a sharper and more angular design, enhancing its sporty appeal. The front fascia sees noticeable tweaks including redesigned headlights and a sleeker grille, aligning with BMW’s modern design language. Customers can choose from four elegant exterior colours – Black Sapphire, Brooklyn Grey Metallic, Alpine White, and M Portimao Blue Metallic – allowing for a highly personalized look.

The car will ride on stylish 18-inch alloy wheels and also features a panoramic glass sunroof, giving it a premium and dynamic character from all angles.

Interior Overhaul with Advanced Features

The cabin of the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe has undergone a comprehensive overhaul. The major highlight is BMW’s curved widescreen display that merges a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with a 10.7-inch central touchscreen. This unified interface runs on BMW’s latest Operating System 9, which brings in a smoother, connected, and customizable infotainment experience.

The dashboard has been redesigned, and most physical buttons have been eliminated to offer a clutter-free cabin. Controls are now largely accessed through the central infotainment system, aligning with modern minimalistic trends.

  • Multi-zone climate control

This makes the sedan not just sporty but also a delight for daily commutes and long trips alike.

Mechanical Enhancements and Engine Specifications

Under the hood, the 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe features a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine delivering 156 bhp and 230 Nm of torque. It is paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission, ensuring quick shifts and smooth acceleration. The car will be offered in two trims:

  • BMW 218 M Sport

  • BMW 218 M Sport Pro

BMW has also recalibrated the suspension setup to offer improved ride comfort and handling dynamics. With better balance and road feedback, the new model is expected to appeal to both city drivers and highway cruisers.

Globally, the BMW 2 Series also comes in diesel variants – the 218d and 220d, while the high-performance M235 xDrive variant can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 250 kmph. However, the India launch will focus on the 1.5L petrol trim only.
